i like to scrapbook. :)

and i even used to do it.
my scrapbooking supplies and i have been apart for a long while, and while the weather seems too nice to sit inside and create a page, i am reminiscing about my love for the craft and looking forward to spending chilly nights with a silly girlie movie, my paper cutter, gluesticks and stacks of paper.
here are some of my fave pages:

my papa (grandfather) in a photobooth circa 1957

my shoes (though this page is a few years old now, i may have to match it with a whole new set - i can only see 3 pairs that i still own!

i made a scrapbook for steve for our 1st anniversary.  i love papers by bampop!

i think this one takes the cake as my fave page ever.  thanksgiving 2008.

from the time i tried to call steve from a payphone in paris.  he didn't get to the phone on time and i left a machine message.  my credit card was later charged $42.00.  super lame!

this is my cousin melissa, in a pic i took ages ago.  but it was fun to use rockstar papers, because you know, she's like that ;)

if you'd like to see more - my set is on flickr here.
and do you scrapbook? i'd love to see your layouts too!

i love weddings.

is anyone else a sucker for weddings?
i love seeing the bride & bridesmaid all giddy before the ceremony.
watching the bride and groom see each other for the first time.
dads walking their daughters.
 the perma-grin on the newlyweds.
seeing my bestie cindy carry 2 bouquets all day as the maid of honour.
hanging out with other couples between the ceremony & reception.
 getting dressed up!
(this is my first ever little black dress, btw)
seeing steve in a suit. mmmm hmmm ;)
 first dances.
 portraits at dusk.
silly "we are the ones at the rowdy table" shots.

and spending the night getting my fave type of exercise - dancing!
what's your fave thing about going to a wedding?

the lovely barbara

meet another great gal i have been lucky enough to take photos of, barb.
she's hilarious and a real sweetheart. the shoot was the first time i've ever met her, but she felt like an instant friend.  here are my fave shots from her shoot.

i love this last one.  well worth the hike to the empty track ;)

decisions, decisions...

it's nearly that time, for me to move again!
and i don't even hate it.  i think it's because i get to start personalizing a new space.
when we move to toronto, we will at first be moving into a house shared with some good friends, which does limit the amount of decorating we (i, who am i kidding) get to do.
i have an idea of what i'd like for our bedroom but am having trouble finding the exact thing i have in my head. i may have to make it.  the bedroom is already painted, and because we don't know how temporary the place will be, we won't bother painting just yet.  the room is a blue-grey right now.  which is fine.  if it were just me, i'd go full out princess and get this bedding from anthropologie:
but steve would probably prefer otherwise.
the runner-up/design in my head is inspired by mens suiting.  there are some that come close, but nothing just right.  truly, there is nothing better than a good looking man in a suit.
 just an example.  *wink wink

this one from amazon.com is nice, but doesn't seem polished enough.  i'd like some piping or some sort of detail to make it look, well, less lumpy. haha.
this one from wrapables.com is tempting, i really like the pop of colour, but it's once again probably too feminine.
this one from thelinenboutique.co.nz is nice, but would be better if not plaid and just stripes.
all in all, this Dora Designs plush dog doorstopper would be perfect as a duvet.  all she needs is a chartreuse floral collar, and to not look so dog-like.

what kind of bedding do you have? how do you find the balance between his & hers? or do you at all?

~hard to resist~

i made cupcakes the other day, and couldn't resist doing a little photoshoot.
may as well share :)

the best part is they were as tasty as they look!

8 down. 14 to go.

i'm a bit late, but it's goal recap time again.
of the 22 original goals for 2010, i have completed 8 to my satisfaction.  reminder:
the one to check off this time is a bit lame, but it's done!
i opened a savings account. whooo retirement, or a house down-payment someday, or some other completely boring but otherwise useful cause.  haha.
i also linked my regular bank account to it, so everytime i use my bank card $2 goes into the savings.  i like saving without even thinking about it.  thanks td!

as for other goal progress, i planned a little photoshoot with some friends.
shayne gemmel and i went to high school together and now he's a fantastic make-up artist. i met hairstylist tracey bell on the film i was working on this summer, and the lovely model is my pal linds - who taught me all the self defense i know. she kicks ass.
i wanted to do something a little different, a bit darker for my portfolio. here are a few,  & as always you can see more on my flickr :)
