7 Albums
These are my top 7 (that I can think of today anyway)
albums. Not favourites to me because of single tracks, but because the
entire work speaks to me.
1. Amelie Original Soundtrack
Now,
Amelie is my favourite film, but I think a lot of its magic is owed to
this flawless soundtrack by Yann Tiersen. I never get tired of the
stunning notes on violin and the ambiance of the accordian.
2. Lauryn Hill - Miseducation of Lauryn Hill
If
I had to choose one album that I might have worn out the CD in high
school, this would be it. Some songs specifically got me through some
tough times. I've always wished she could follow this up with something
new, but I'm happy with this just the same.
3. Beatles - Revolver
In
8th grade we did a music class project and studied The Beatles. I was
hooked. At first it was their early stuff - I Wanna Hold Your Hand -
but I continued my own project and fell in love with their later, deeper
work. Eleanor Rigby changed my feelings about music. There was a
whole lot more out there than Sheryl Crow and Collective Soul had to
offer.
4. Tegan & Sarah - The Con
This album got me through the biggest breakup in my life. I will always thank them for that.
5. Radiohead - Ok Computer
What is not to love - seriously? Let's play this on loop all day.
6. TV on the Radio - Return to Cookie Mountain
Steve
made me a mixed cd when we first started dating. These guys were on
it, and aside from being amazingly talented, I'm a bit sentimental :)
7. Bloc Party - Silent Alarm
Without
fail, this can get me off my butt and dancing around the apartment. It
is so energetic and infectious that I can't resist. This will be
played on cleaning days absolutely.
That's the list!
What are your fave albums?
The amelie sound track I TOTALLY agree, such a fantastic movie with great music. Another movie I LOVE the whole soundtrack to is Dear John, I know, a total chick flick, but I love it haha

That is a solid list.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't really thought about it in a while, but I'd have Silent Alarm on mine as well - I've played the absolute hell out of that album over the years, and it's still one of those ones I can just put on and feel great listening to any time.
