I don't know if it's just me, but what is it about having free time that makes it only worth having while you're busy?
let me explain.
so i've just switched cities and am unemployed. i've been told to relax, enjoy the time off and catch up on all the things that i've wanted to do but didn't have the time for.
however, the thing is: i don't feel like doing them.
it's true that i can only spend so much time handing out resumes and making callbacks.
after that, i should have tonnes of time to catch up on my hobbies - scrapbooking, sewing, making jewelry and taking and editing photos. except that i can't. i can't let go and relax.
something about having too much time makes it not worth having.
I understand the feeling, don't worry, you're not alone. Spending your free time on what you really want to do seems to be an art these days. Too busy to do what you want, or too tired when you get the chance.
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling. Unfortunately I find it's pretty hard to find the right balance. Either I'm too busy to really take on the things I actually want to do, or I've got the free time and I wind up using it on other things.
ReplyDeleteBlah.
I find I only feel like doing my hobbies when I shouldn't be. For instance, all of my art is primarily done at work. Go figure.
ReplyDeleteNot post-related, but I really like your new blog template.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the job search. You'll find something. In the meantime... scrapping is good for getting your mind off other things.
ReplyDeleteWorks for me anyway! :-)
